Kate Fredrick |
Kate Fredrick has won numerous awards for her color-charged abstract landscapes and her thought provoking collages. She is also in the process of reviving her long standing love of painting in oils in which color abounds and her sense of humor is most prevalent. Kate is most interested in presenting a place or feeling through color and form.
Kate's interest in art started early, her mother, as well as her brother, were both accomplished artists. Her childhood in New York was filled with many hours of multi-media fun and games.
Kate formally studied art at San Francisco State University and set up a visual arts studio in San Francisco. She moved to Calaveras County ten years ago and now attends local workshops looking for ways to expand her talents and searching for new ideas. She is also active in local art groups and is currently president of Arts of Bear Valley, as well as a member of Golden Palette Art Association. She is interested in bringing fine art to the general community by participating in and creating new venues for art shows and other activities.
