Ann Nancy enjoys world travel with her husband, Jim. She always brings watercolors and sketchbook snatching any moment to paint. "Painting seems to speak the universal language, break down barriers and open doors to friendship. Maybe that's why I love to paint." She also enjoys painting in her studio in Big Trees with the beautiful Sierra Nevada for inspiration. Ann Nancy's achievements include Best of Show & Best of Division & severial First Awards as well as many other top awards from the Calaveras Co. Fair. She has also won awards from the Cal Arts League during their annual open show in Sacramento and is especially proud of her Dorner Schueler award from the Golden Palette Art Association. Other juried shows to welcome her work include Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society, Sacramento Fine Arts Center and Gallo's exhibit at the Mitslin Gallery of Modesto. Membership in five local art associations present opportunities for display of her work. Ann Nancy, or Nancy, as she prefers to be called, earned an MBA from U.S.F. and continues her studies of art with nationally known painters such as Jane Hofstetter, Dale Laitinen, and Robert Burridge. "Learning becomes part of each painting so the experience is always new and challenging."
